Happy New Year

Welcome to the very first Eco Challenge of 2026!

Let's start the year by being mindful of how much water we actually use. Time your showers, fix that leaky faucet you've been ignoring, and only run full loads of laundry or dishes. You'll be surprised how small changes can make a big difference in your water footprint (and your water bill too!!) This month is all about building easy habits that protect one of our most vital resources, fresh water.

Tips for success:

Keep your showers under 5 minutes (use a timer or a short playlist).

Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or doing the dishes.

Collect cold "warm-up" water from the shower for plants or cleaning.

Fun fact:

A single leaky faucet can waste over 3,000 gallons of water per year, which is enough for 180 showers.
